Lions Leadership Award to Lion Brian McKay for all of his work with social media. This is the 3rd highest award for Lions.

LCI Forward is a Strategic Plan for moving Lions into the next century of service.

Club Quality Initiative-based on LCI Forward

Council officially endorsed PID Brian Sheehan from MN for International 3rd Vice President. The Lions of the State of Wisconsin have been asked to help campaign for him at the International Convention in Las Vegas.

Centennial Coin will be available only through December 31. Cost is $52 and $10 goes to LCIF.

Communicate Like a Leader is March 24-25 in Plover. This is our version of a regional training. Applications are available online and need to be given to the DG.

Centuries for Sight Tour - 1917 Oakland car has been completely restored and is traveling the Yellowstone Trail between Hudson and Racine raising monies and awareness for WLF. Great example of thinking outside of the box and raising awareness and funds.

State Bowling is in Monroe, February 24-April 11 on Saturdays and Sundays. IPDG Eric Holthaus is chairing.

Requests for solicitations of funds at club level were granted to Beyond Vision, CBI, Kathy's House, and Camp Counselor Appreciation and two other events.

PID Phil Ingwell expressed concerns about how many solicitations we may receive. Solicitations are going to club level only and are entirely up to the club to make those decisions.

DG Jodi gave pins to Cabinet Secretary, GMT Coordinator, and GLT Coordinator.

1st VDG John Elvekrog and 2nd VDG Conrad Dreyer - things are going great.

Secretary's report - Motion to approve the minutes of the August cabinet meeting made by PDG Walt Althaus, and seconded by PDG Dick Schwedrsky. Motion passed.

Treasurer's report - Motion to file for audit made by PDG Rob Sherman and seconded by IPDG Eric Holthaus. Motion passed.

As the next cabinet meeting is a webinar, Lion Dale Burmester did a demo on how this will work. Cabinet reports still need to be filed and voting will be done via the webinar. We will be using Web Ex. You can call in from a phone if you do not want to use the computer. If you want to see others you will need to use the computer/laptop/smart phone and an internet connection. Everyone will be muted unless called on. DG Jodi will be sending out an email by Dec 21st inviting the cabinet to connect to the webinar. This email will have a link to connect. If you have not received the email please let DG Jodi know by the end of December. If using a phone you will need the meeting number and the meeting password. Allow extra time to install software, set up an account, and to connect. You will have an option to click on a link to connect or to join by phone. Please connect audio by telling it to call me. You will be able to see all participants. Agenda and presentations will come up on the screen. Chat button will allow you to type in messages. Dale/team will mute and unmute you when you raise your hand for questions. When you want to leave the meeting, click on exit. On smart phone you will want them to call you on your video system as you are on your phone. Questions please call Dale. Test in advance. We will do a test webinar in advance. Dale will be providing a step by step instruction.

Social Media - Lion Brian is developing a platform to update everyone's social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Affiliate District President - Lion/Lioness Greg Clark is filling the slot vacated upon the resignation of Carol Gilbert. A $50 memorial donation was made to WLF in memory of Everett Gilbert, Carol's husband. The Lioness started with 340 members and are plus 17 members.

Centennial - Lion Tammy reported that the Centennial coin will only be available until December 31st. Also this is the year to celebrate the Centennial. The district will be celebrating at the convention with the $500 awarded to us for winning the Eyeglass Recycling Challenge.

GMT - Lion Tara informed us that we down 19 members, most from the UW-Campus Club. We have already put in 26,000 service hours, equating to about 461 hours per club. Lion Aaron Welsh is sending exit surveys to dropped members. November 5 is a workshop on Club Quality Initiative. The first workshop is at Mineral Point HS from 8-12 and then Coachman's in Edgerton from 2-6. Cost is $5.00 to attend. In March, LCI is sending an expert to teach us how to recruit and raise our visibility. This workshop will be Sunday, March 12 in conjunction with the district convention.

GLT - Lion Mike reported that regional meetings are in the next two weeks. With six locations we have 81% of the clubs already signed up. If attending without a meal the cost is $5.00 otherwise each location has individual meal prices.

WLF - Lion John Dickson reported that the camp had a wonderful camping year. The Friends and Honors Garden is being remodeled. On sale, you can purchase a diamond with a seam for just $2500. Help is needed for weeding.

Lions Pride - PDG Rollie informed us that for a $15,000 donation you will sponsor one camper forever. Several clubs have already accomplished this including Albany, Madison Central and Madison West. The donation can be spread over several years.

LEBW - Lion Ron says the eye bank operations continue to progress. Legal action has been taken against Sight Live, so unable to discuss at this time. The new location is 5003 Tradewinds, Madison. There is an October 30 closing. Because of an opportunity, the lot size has been expanded for future ventures. The call center moved to in house October 1st.

Restoring Hope Transplant House - PDG Bob Faliveno and Lion Bill Bartlett are chairing. The capital campaign is officially over. They are still short donations of $46,000 of the $300,000 from districts. They have hit $500,000 in donations. While the capital campaign is over, they are in need of operational money. The expansion for 16 more rooms should start the middle of next year. The project is between 1.2 million and 1.5 million dollars. Albany Lions have donated a lift chair.

Combat Blindness International - PDG Bob Faliveno reported for Lion Carmine Greco. There is an Al Greco Memorial Fund for CBI. A $25 donation pays for a cataract surgery. Currently, they are working in Botswana.

Health and Wellness Initiative - Lion Lisa Ruth handed out some goal setting sheets, and wants us to work on individual goals. We can also do club goals. A planning sheet helps to find time. Will be presenting more at the regional meetings.

Peace Poster - PDG Walt, posters need to be completed and back to the DG by November 15.

District Convention - Lion Bill Clausius. Convention is March 10-11, Chula Vista, Wisconsin Dells. Starts at 9 am on Saturday. On Sunday, the cabinet meeting will be at 8 am and the recruiting workshop at 9 am. Convention Experience is $85 and includes 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 dinner. Cost to spend the night is $119 plus taxes and fees. Convention is seeking corporate sponsorships to help offset some of the costs. Saturday night is dress as a super hero.

Diabetes - Lion Becky. November 10 th is Diabetes Awareness Day and November is Diabetes Awareness Month. World Diabetes Day is November 14 th . This is the 5th Centennial Challenge.

LCIF - Lion Laurie-lots of grants have been issued for major catastrophes, donations are needed. LCIF is celebrating their 50th Anniversary. Would like each club to have a coordinator. Melvin Jones Fellowships are packaged very nicely.

Policy - PDG John - have not met, report in March.

Candidate Search and Review - PDG John. Committee is looking for another member. Job is to encourage individuals to move up. Nomination papers need to in by December 31st to be on the ballot. Also 1st and 2nd VDG need to file to move up. WLF Director position is open due to a resignation. This is the first year of a 3 year term. DG appoints to finish the year, but the last two years need to be filled by vote at convention.

State Convention - PDG John. State convention is the first weekend in May in Oconomowoc. PDG Jordan Chadwick is the new state convention coordinator.

International Convention - PDG John. Convention is in Las Vegas from June 29-July 3 at the MGM Grand Resort. Wisconsin delegation will be at the Luxor. Parade route is Las Vegas Blvd between the Stratosphere and Fremont starting at 8 am.

Wisconsin Lions Mission - Lion Erling. District released $3000 for the Hurricane Harvey relief. Rockport, Texas Lions received $20,000 from Wisconsin for relief. Tom and Linda Brines went to help with the cleanup efforts. A total of 4 from our district and 7 from the state went to Texas to aide with clean up. Another trip to help will be this fall. Future missions are Haiti, Nicaragua, and El Salvador.

Children's Vision Screening - Lion Dave. The challenge is to screen 100,000 kids from May 1st, 2017 to May 1st, 2018. Need to complete a reporting form and send to Lion Dave Hineline. Last year our district reported 11,000 screenings. Training certification is November 4, in Edgerton.

Youth Exchange - Lion Ben. Applications are available for young adults age 17-20 in our district. Scholarship deadline is December 15. He would like all donations made by that time also. Host family activities was a hit. They did laser tag, bowling, Concerts on the Square, Vilas and Olbrich and attended a Mallards game. Kids that participate are joining Leos and Lions.

September - EVERY club submitted their Activity and Membership reports!

District bowling 2019 looking for a candidate. Needs to be in by December 31.

October 15 - White Cane Safety Days-Patty Zallar is doing a virtual 5K for Leader Dog

Tail twister - $1.00 to do a puzzle, monies donated to WLF.

50/50 $65 Lion Dale Burmester won, and donated to WLF.
