27-D1 District Cabinet Meeting - July 31, 2022 - Hi Point Steak House
Sharing the Service

Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 11:35am by our new DG Alan Johnson. Lion Al led us in song, we heard words of inspiration from 1st VDG Jeff Winkler and we bowed our heads in prayer with 2nd VDG Ron Wright.

It was great to meet new people, reacquaint with friends and get caught up with all of the great things that are going on in our District over a wonderful lunch.

Lion Peter Cerniglia, PID, had the honor of installing the Cabinet, starting with the District Chairs then Zone Chairs, GLT, GMT, GAT, GMA and the District Administrator.

Lion Alan Johnson shared his goals with us for his year as District Governor:

  1. 1. Sharing the Service is his theme and includes LEOS, as well. His goal is to see 85% of the clubs reporting their service. He also is passionate about LCIF and would like to have 100% of the clubs in our District making a donation to them.
  2. 2. Leadership: Lion Al is a huge fan of in-person meetings. He'd also like to see more people using e-mail in order to stay in the loop of communication. Participate in trainings to learn all you can, such as Zone trainings. We need to develop new leaders.
  3. 3. Membership Goal: It would be AWESOME to see positive growth in our District!! The GMA (Global Membership Approach) encourages all clubs to put a team together, develop a plan and implement those plans to encourage new people to join Lions.
  4. 4. Kindness Matters: This service award is given to clubs that meet the criteria for a special service project that they participate in. The deadline to apply is August 15, 2022.
  5. 5. Several Committee Chairs are needed: Environmental Chair, District Convention Chair, Constitution By-Laws and a Marketing Person to promote Lions in our District.
  6. 6. Club Excellence Award: It's time for clubs to fill out the application for Lion Year 2021/22. Deadline to apply is August 31, 2022.
