Minutes

Call to Order: at 7:00 p.m. by DG Bill Clausius thanked everyone for coming.

Introduced International Director Dr. Jose Marrero.

Pledge: led by 2nd VDG Jeff Winkler

Words of Wisdom: by 1st VDG Al Johnson. Challenged everyone to look forward.

Treasurer's Report: CT Bill Severson presented the current financial statements. Motion made by PDG Phil I. with a second by Lion Conrad to approve Treasurer's report. There were no questions. Motion carried.

Committee Reports:

Global Action Team: Lion Tony reports that leadership training is coming up in late April/early May and will be virtual.

LEBW: Report submitted.

Wisconsin Lions Foundation: Report submitted. PDG John Elvekrog reports they will be getting a new logo. Expects that Lions Camp tours will be available this year. Diabetes camps are already full.

Vision Screening: Lion Milo Parker report was sent out. Lion Milo reports they screened 363 WI Dells/Lake Delton kids today with a 21% referral rate. Still working on/with Madison School District on screenings.

LCIF: Lion Dan Marshall reports that a separate fund has been set up to help displaced people from Ukraine. Reminds everyone to check their Melvin Jones accounts and see what they have available for funds. Our district has done well raising funds. $30,000 thus far this Lion year.

USA/Canada Forum: IPDG Tammy said get your passport ready as 2022 forum will be in Calgary on September 15 to 17.

Leo Report: Lion Guy Gryphon reports he is excited to meet the LEOS tomorrow at convention.

Diabetes: Lion Jill K. submitted report.

Youth Exchange: Lion Ben August submitted report.

Missions: DG Bill was asked if he had anyone to chair the Missions committee. Reported he was still looking for someone. VDG Al said he has someone lined up for this position for next year.

Motion made to adjourn at 7:18. Motion passed.

District Business Meeting Minutes

March 12, 2022

Meeting called to order by DG Bill Clausius.

DG Bill introduced State Council Chair Stacey who gave us a “state of the state” report. Our state Lions are in good shape. We are currently at a plus membership.

DG Bill gave us a “state of the district” report. He reports that several goals for 2021-2022 have been attained and several more are still in progress. Our district is currently down in membership.

Announced Peace Poster winners.

CT Bill Severson gave us a brief summary on our accounts and our district is in good financial shape.

DG Bill turned the meeting over to election chair Lion John Jenson who then led our officer nominations.

Nominations as follows:

District Governor: Lion Al Johnson nominated by Lion Tony Sobczek, seconded by Lion Mike Keller. No other nomonations. Nominations were closed. Lion Al accepted.

1st Vice district governor: Lion Jeff Winkler nominated by Lion Bruce Voight, seconded by Lion Adam Crowson. No other nominations. Nominations were closed. Lion Jeff accepted.

2nd Vice district governor: Lion Ron Wright nominated by DG Bill Clausius, seconded by IPDG Tammy Rockenbach. No other nominations. Nominations were closed. Lion Ron accepted.

WLF Director: PDG Randy Harrison nominated by DG Bill Clausius, seconded by PDG Rick Daluge. Lion Jim Fletcher nominated by Lion Missy Dickson, seconded by Lion Adam Crowson. No other nominations. Nominations were closed. Both candidates accepted their nominations.

District Bowling 2023: McFarland Lions were the only nomination. They accepted.

Motion to adjourn. Motion carried.
