Global Service Team Report

Stuff the Bus - I talked with Bruce this week and he has heard from 23 of the 28 Clubs participating in Stuff the Bus this year. With the 23 Clubs that have reported we are at a total of $83,842 of donations and cash. A very nice bounce back from last year. Thank you for heading this up, Bruce.

Kindness Matters Service Award - Four nominations were received from District clubs for the initial Kindness Matters Service Award. Nominations were submitted by McFarland, Cross Plains, New Glarus and Lancaster. Working with the Awards & Recognition Chair, Andy Grosvold, the nominations were summarized for a blind vote by the District Exec Team, Global Action Team and Zone Chairs. In a very close vote, Cross Plains "Meals on Wheels" Project was selected as the 2020-21 Kindness Matters Service Award winner for 27D1 and was submitted for consideration for the MD27 award. I received word from PDG Gregory R Pryor, MD27 GST Coordinator that the Cross Plain Lions entry will be moving on as they were also the winner of the MD27 award. Congratulations, Cross Plains Lions!!

Virtual MD27 GST meeting in September: Discussion topics included Stuff the Bus and Kindness Matters Service Award. MD27 GST meetings are scheduled virtually for the 2 nd Thursday of each month thru May 2022. We are meeting again this Thursday and will be discussing the District Governor's goals and how we can help them achieve them.

MyLion - Reporting has started slow. 31 clubs have filed reports on MyLion. Through September 437 service activities have been reported with nearly 70,178 people served.

NexTrex Plastic Film Recycling Program - Environmental Chair Bill Baker and myself had a 40-minute Zoom meeting with Stephanie Hicks from NexTrex who oversees the program. She shared that they currently work with about 2,000 groups/clubs throughout the US and her job is to bring on others and help them grow with the program. We had a great 1st conversation and we have some materials that will arrive in a week or two. Our goal is to have a challenge with all of the clubs in the district. Stay tune as more information will be coming out.
