Region 2 Zone 1 Report

Region 2 Zone 1 is without a Zone Chairperson so I will report on the Zone. I have set the first Zone Meeting in combination with R2Z2 on 8/16 at the Coliseum Bar

•    Cross Plain - they are down on membership. At the start of the year they had 77 members which is now down 3 to 74. This is an active club, in 2016-17 they has 92 activities serving 667 persons. They also achieved all four levels of the centennial challenge. I have not visited this club but they are entering MMR and Activities in MyLCI. They have entries for each month of the year. They appear to be active and functioning well.

•    Mazomanie - Membership is stable, they are holding at 43 members. They were active with 36 activities in the 2016-2017 year serving 496 persons. However that may be an opportunity to expand activities. I have not visited this club but they are entering MMR and Activities in MyLCI. They have entered activities and membership for each month of the 2016-17 year. They also have achieved all four levels of the Centennial Challenge. They are active and functioning well.

•    Middleton - membership is stable holding at 36 members, but membership was 43 to start the 2016 year. While they are stable at this time they are down from the start of 2016. This is an active club in 2016-17 with 30 activities and 106 served. There may be an opportunity to expand activities. I have not visited this club but they are reporting MMR and activities. They have entered membership and activities for each month of 2016-17. They have reported 30 activities serving 106 people. They have also achieved 3 of the 4 Centennial Service challenges. They are active and functioning well. I do believe that is an opportunity to expand service and activities to the community based on the report.

•    Mt. Horeb - membership is stable they are holding at 25 members. This club is active with 81 activities serving 2478 persons. They are reporting both MMR and Activities in My LCI. They reported membership and activities for each month of 2016-17. They have also achieved all 4 levels of the Centennial Challenge. They are active and functioning well.

•    Verona - membership is stable at 33 members. They are an active club with 104 activities serving 12,123 persons the best in the Zone. They are reporting MMR and Activities in MyLCI. They have reported membership and activities for each month of 2016-17. This is an active club and functioning well.

Overall I believe the main threat to the Zone is membership. Currently we are down three members in this Zone. We need to grow this Zone. Even though each club is functioning well membership is down. Even the clubs that are stable need to grow or the average age of the club grows and make is difficult to recruit new members and service the community as the club ages. All clubs are doing a good job reporting in MyLCI. All clubs ae active.
