State Convention Coordinator Report

2016 State Convention

The Convention Host Committee has been formally organized as 2016 Lions State Convention Limited Liability Company. lt is composed of Lions from the following clubs: Appleton Noon, Grand Chute, Kaukauna, Medina-Dale-Readfield and Neenah. The Host Committee will be co-chaired by PCC Dean Haas and PDG Dave Sievert. The Host Committee has been working on aspects of the convention. The seminars and the schedule of events will be addressed in the next two months and submitted to the Council for approval at the March Council Meeting. Specific items requiring Council approval will be covered at the end of this report.

The Host Committee seeks your approval of the convention theme of "Unlock the Magic of Lionism."

The convention pin design is being explored and will be broughttothe Councilat a future meeting for approval.

The meal menus have been selected and the costs will be presented for approval at the end of this report.

Advertising rates forthe program booklet, which will be approximately 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches, are as follows: back outside cover $300, inside front and back covers $200, full page $125, half page S80, and quarter page $50.

The Annual State Convention Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, May 19 at Royal St. Patricks Golf Course located in Wrightstown about a 15 minute drive from the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel.

The dignitaries housing information has been sent out pursuant to Policy C-5. I would encourage you to make your reservations as soon as possible.

Registration information for those covered under Policy F-1 will be solicited prior to the March Council Meeting.

It is recommended that the Council of Governors take the following actions:

  1. 1. Approve the convention theme of "Unlock the Magic of Lionism."

  2. 2. Approve the following fees to be included on the Registration Form:

    1. a. Registration Fee (Regular) - $15.00

    2. b. Registration Fee (Leos) - Free

    3. c. Friday Luncheon - $20.00

    4. d. Saturday Luncheon - $20.00

    5. e. Saturday Banquet - $28.00

    6. f. Convention Pin - $4.00

  3. 3. Approve a late fee of $2.00 to be added to registration and meals (if available) received after May 1.

  4. 4. Approve the program booklet advertising rates as follows:

    1. a. Outside back cover - $300.00

    2. b. lnside front and back covers - $200.00

    3. c. Full page - S125.00

    4. d. Half page - $30.00

    5. e. Quarter page - $50.00

  5. 5. Approve the entry fee for the Annual State Golf Tournament of S75.00.

  6. 6. Approve a display table charge for commercial vendors of 5100.00.

Any other deviations from the Multiple District Policy Manual will be addressed as the need arises.

2019 State Convention

I have received two written proposal to host the 2019 convention and I expect to receive another one prior to the Council meeting. I will be arranging a site inspection(s) for the State Convention Site lnspection Committee prior to the March 20L6 Council of Governors meeting so that a recommendation as to the adequacy of the site(s) can be made to the Council.
