R2 Z2 Report - Sunday, January 11, 2026

My six clubs are still active with team activities. We just finished the A1c Testing project in partnership with HyVee grocery stores; new Registered Dietician Ellen Rippl did the testing. We were at the three Madison area stores and Janesville Lions worked at their city store. We are very appreciative to District Diabetes Chair Jill Kietzke who sponsored $1920 from her budget tests with Janesville adding another $400 of their own club's money.

Madison Central and Madison West are still working on merging their clubs. UW Campus club is still reorganizing and did children's vision screening at two Madison grade schools coordinating with UW.

All clubs are meeting and doing their own service projects and fundraising. They all could do a better job at entering this in the Portal-including me for my own club. Some rang bells for the Salvation Army, doing children's vision screening, providing meals to Ronald McDonald House, collecting plastic, collecting old/used eyeglasses and hearing aids, etc. Fitchburg especially is helping the Verona Club with District Bowling. And we will again be doing the Diabetes Awareness Scavenger Hunt at the District Convention.

Respectfully submitted,
Julie Baglama
