Childhood Cancer Report - Sunday, January 11, 2026

Since there is no statewide program I can only encourage clubs in the District to do what they can to help a family that is stricken with a childhood cancer. I have not heard from many clubs.

I know that Madison West provides a meal to Ronald McDonald House every month-very nice! And my own club (Madison Monona) adopted a family that was vetted using Badger Childhood Care Network for a family receiving treatment at UW Children's Hospital. I know that Fitchburg has donated money.

At the District Convention I heard that clubs and Lions will be encouraged to bring a bear in honor of Dory's Bears I believe it is called. The bears will be a comfort to those that are fighting cancer.

I will have a table at the convention. And it is possible that one of the speakers will be Susannah Peterson of BCCN. I hope next year that there will be a concerted statewide program again.

Respectfully submitted,
