New Mountains to Climb / Back to the Future
District Meeting - Sunday, October 9, 2016
Albany Lions Clubhouse
GMT/CENTENNIAL Report

100,000,000

To celebrate the Lions Centennial, we were asked to serve 100,000,000 people by the end of June 2018. We reached that number in September 2017. We still have almost 2 years to go. How many more will we be able to serve?

The Lions are doing a statewide centennial project recycling eyeglasses. IP Bob Corlew and his wife, Dianne, came to Wisconsin October 1 st to kick off this project. WOW!!! What a day. We collected over 10,000 pairs of eyeglasses. But that is not the end of the challenge. From October 1, 2016 until May 6, 2017 we are challenging districts to collect the most eyeglasses. The winner will have bragging rights and maybe a fabulous gift. We end the challenge with state convention and another IP Corlew visit.

At our Regional Meetings we will be handing out patches for the Centennial Service Challenge. We will also be discussing Legacy projects, what is a Legacy project and what is not. Expanding upon the CEP we will have CST, Club Success Team. Lion Bruce Voight will be helping clubs assess their community needs and developing Legacy projects from that. This is an additional component to developing successful clubs.

Respectfully,
Tammy Rockenbach
