August Cabinet Meeting
Region 2 Zone 4 Report

Dick, here is my first report after this tong summer which is going by too quickly.

I am fortunate to have an excellent Zone. Each club is active supports Lions. This zone has shown growth and currently +7 which is excellent. Claim are reporting only one club is with activities.

Cottage Grove: excellent club, with strong ties to the District and Lions in general. Membership includes past District Govemor. They also have the Whistlers that appear in local parades giving Lions a presence in the community and communities outside of Cottage Grove. They did have some issues with member leaving and calling out meeting structure; this was shared with the club. The president was concerned and took the information to heart to improve the club. Their membership is on the rise being an increase of 3 new members. I believe this club is preforming well.' However, this is the only club with our activities recorded on the MyLCI Page.

Deerfield: Deerfield is a smaller club but very active in their local community. They have been relatively consistent in membership, but last year they did grow by one member and now have a female member which is excellent. They also may be set for the future since they now have a LEO club. The monthly meetings are well attended and they get near 100% attendance at meetings. This is another excellent club.

Marshall: this is my home club, and an excellent club. The club had some turmoil over the last year with an active and vocal leader resigning. This has not hurt the club and membership remains strong being +7 in new members. This club is unique as they are the only service club in Marshall and have developed a strong presence in the local community. They actively support lions activities including youth exchange, a passion of deceased member Joe Kornell. This club is performing excellently.

Stoughton: this is an excellent club. They have a very strong presence with excellent members Julie Nygaard and John Elvekrog. They are committed to Lionism. There is a concem in that their membership has decreased; they are down 4 members. This will bear watching in the future.
