Meeting Minutes

Called to order at 10:00a.m. by PDG John Jensen with 75 District members present.

Secretary's Report - CS Jim Fletcher reported that the minutes from the March 10, 2019 Cabinet meeting are posted on the District's website. Motion to approve by PID Phil Ingwell, seconded by DGE Conrad Dreyer, motion carried.

Treasurer's Report - CT Bill Severson, District Convention made about $2,800, all the District Activity Accounts will be cleared out with checks written today, and otherwise the accounts are in good shape. If anyone ever has any questions about the District Accounts, feel free to contact Bill. Motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurer's Report, Motion carried.

Report of the By-Laws and Resolutions Committee - PDG John Jensen reviewed the 2 Resolutions that will be voted on during the voting session today. The first resolution gives the Wisconsin Lions Foundation the authority to spend in excess of $100,000 to construct a new high challenge course, zip line, and climbing tower. The second resolution will enable the Multiple District 27 Resolutions, Constitution, and By-Laws Committee to hold meetings as needed to ensure compliance with the Lions Clubs International Constitution and By-laws.

International Director Candidates - IPDG & CC Jodi Bumester was introduced by 1st VDGE Tammy. Jodi encouraged us to vote for her for ID. She presented DG John Elvekrog a Lion statute to be used however he decides (the statute was auctioned off for $25 with DG John the high bidder). IPDG & Past WLF President Lee Vrieze also made a visit to our meeting and presented DG John with a bottle of homemade wine (DG John gave the wine to CT Bill).

Report of the District Governor - DG John Elvekrog thanked PDG John Jensen for the work he does for the District on the various committees. He also thanked the District Lions for all the good things they do in their communities. He highlighted the LCIF grant for the August 2018 flooding in western Dane County and the matching grant for the Flow-Cytometer equipment to treat children with cancer. Dg John thanked 1st VDGE Tammy and Lioness Affiliate Liaison Greg Clark for their strong leadership in our District. He thanked the CS and CT for all their work this past year.

Introduction of District Governor Elect by DG John Elvekrog -DG John introduced DGE Conrad Dreyer as the District Governor for 2019-2020.

Remarks of District Governor Elect - DGE Conrad asked the members of our District for their support during his year as District Governor.

Iowa Grant Lions are helping in the schools as reading tutors in May.

Albany Lions annual car show June 30th and pig out August 1st

Mount Horeb Lions golf outing July 27th

McFarland Lions annual chicken BBQ May 27th, golf outing June 20th, and food cart Wednesdays during the summer.
